A payday advance is a simple transaction. A customer writes us a check and we agree not to present that check for payment until an agreed upon date, usually the day of or the day after your next payday. The legal name for it is a deferred presentment service and we are governed by the Deferred Presentment Services Act of 1998.
When you first come in you need 4 things:
Your will fill out an information sheet with contact and employment information. We will verify it and input your information into Teletrack, an industry verification service. This step is NOT a credit check. Obviously, if you have perfect credit or lots of money in the bank you wouldn't be coming to see us in the first place. We will then set a limit on your account. Once approved as a first time customer, your limit will be between $50 and $200.
You initial limit will be based on criteria such as how much you make, how much you use your checking account, whether or not you get direct deposit, how long you have been at your job, and whether or not you have a negative balance in your checking account. Warning!: A one penny balance is fine but a negative balance is a problem and if accepted will usually result in a lower first time limit.
After you decide how much you want to advance, we will agree on a due date with you. You will have the choice of having your check sent through the bank for collection or coming in and buying your check back from us with cash. If you are using a coupon or getting a free transaction, then you must come into the store and pick up your check to get the discount. You must always pay the full amount of your check in cash, even if you intend to do another transaction immediately.
Your initial information is good for a 6 month period. If you need us again within 6 months you don't have to bring your information for each transaction. You just need your ID and a new check. If it has been longer than 6 months since your last transaction, we ask that you bring new information with you.
The law says that you cannot have more then 2 deferred presentment transactions out at the same time and that the total of those transactions (including fees) can't exceed $500.
ALWAYS USE PAYDAY ADVANCES RESPONSIBILY!
